Tom jest pokłosiem sesji naukowej, która odbyła się w Warszawie w grudniu 2019 roku w ramach polsko-francuskiego projektu badawczego dotyczącego kryzysów literatury. Jej celem było ukazanie, jak literatura wpływa na inne dziedziny wiedzy. Te relacje – podziały, współdziałania czy napięcia – zostały wprawdzie skonceptualizowane w XIX wieku, kiedy powstawały „dyscypliny” naukowe, które znamy z dzisiejszych uniwersytetów, ale można je było obserwować już dużo wcześniej. Zgromadzone tu teksty badają je od czasów renesansu aż po literaturę najnowszą. Pokazują okoliczności historyczne i przemiany estetyczne, w trakcie których literatura związana była z dyskursem religijnym i historycznym, towarzyszyła powstawaniu socjologii czy etnografii, a także przygotowała nowe dyscypliny, takie jak demografia. I zawsze zapewniała tym dziedzinom nauki pewien wymiar humanistyczny i poetycki. Czy wobec tego kryzys literatury rozgrywa się właśnie w jej zdolności do ponownej absorbcji tego, co zdaje się jej wymykać i dążyć do autonomii? This volume, the result of a conference held in Warsaw in December 2019 as a part of a Franco-Polish research project on crises in literature, focuses on the relationships that the literature maintains with other fields of knowledge. These relationships, made up of sharing, collaboration or tension, were primarily theorized in the 19th century when the founding "disciplines" of our universities and research practices were established, but they had existed before. The texts presented in this volume allow us to verify this, from the Renaissance period to contemporary literature. They deal with historical circumstances and aesthetic changes in the course of which literature has forged links with religious or historical thought and discourse, accompanied the emergence of sociology or ethnography, and prepared new disciplines, such as demography. And it has always reinvested this new knowledge with a humanist and poetic dimension. Does the literature crisis lay in its capacity for reinvestment of what seems to escape from it and aiming at autonomy? Ce volume, fruit d’une journée d’étude sur le partage des disciplines qui s’est tenue à Varsovie en décembre 2019 dans le cadre d’un projet de recherche franco-polonais sur les crises dans la littérature, s’intéresse aux rapports que cette dernière entretient, dans le temps long (du Moyen Âge à la période contemporaine), avec d’autres disciplines ou champs de savoir. Ces rapports, faits de partages, de collaborations ou de tensions, s’ils se théorisent prioritairement au XIXe siècle lorsque se constituent les « disciplines » fondatrices de nos universités et de nos pratiques de recherche, existent préalablement à ce moment de partition des disciplines. Les textes réunis ici permettent de le vérifier, depuis la Renaissance jusqu’à la littérature contemporaine. Il y est question des circonstances historiques et des infléchissements esthétiques au fil desquels la littérature a tissé des liens avec la pensée et les discours religieux ou historiques, a accompagné l’émergence de ce qui se constituait comme sociologie ou ethnographie, a préparé des disciplines nouvelles, comme la démographie, mais toujours, pour chaque spécificité ou spécialité, en réinvestissant ces savoirs nouveaux d’une dimension humaniste et poétique. La crise de la littérature se jouerait-elle dans la capacité de réinvestissement, propre à la littérature, de ce qui semble lui échapper et s’autonomiser?

Le livre inaugure une nouvelle série « Pluralités européennes », continuation des « Cahiers de Varsovie » (n ° 1/27). Il rassemble les actes d’une journée d’étude polono-franco-allemande qui a eu lieu à l’Université de Varsovie en septembre 2017. Les contributions s’inscrivent dans la réflexion sur l’enseignement des littératures d’expression française au XXIe siècle dans les instituts d’études romanes. Douze textes rédigés par des spécialistes de la littérature et de la didactique montrent ce qu’il faut faire pour familiariser les étudiants avec des textes littéraires : quels livres lire pour rendre les cours littéraires intéressants, quels exercices proposer pour aider les étudiants à comprendre le texte et comment combiner la littérature avec l'enseignement de l’histoire et de la culture.
